Compassion Meditation

Stand,
hands as if in your back pockets, feet together, toes and heels touching.
Drop your head back, push your hips forward, weight on your heels.
Let your heart be open.
When ready, come up, focus on your breath.
When ready, sit.
We are going to think about some people we know.
Some folks like to close their eyes.
Think of someone you love dearly.
See them. Hear them. Touch them.
Love
a strong affection arising out of kinship or personal ties.*

What ties, kinship, do you have with this person you love dearly?
Feel your love for this person.
Compassion

Take their distress within you.
